I went on a road trip through the vast expanse of the American desert during the Spring 2023 with my oldest friend, feeling somewhat obligated to snap it all on 35mm Kodak 400 film, given its irresistible trendy status.
The colors, textures, and experiences of the desert environment during hikes and vintage beatnik clothes spotted in Joshua tree, influenced the design and concept for a new jacket.
The idea of a Tie Dye Jacket came.

Tie-dye gained prominence in the Western world during the 1960s and 1970s as a symbol of counterculture and self-expression. It became closely associated with the hippie movement, psychedelic music, and the anti-establishment ethos of the time.
Back to London, I discovered The Dyer's Daughter, a business established in 2020 by Ann and her daughter Frances. Ann, with her extensive experience in textiles and colors, primarily works with natural dyes. We chose to bleach tie-dye the Robbyn jacket because it was the only way to give the navy fabric a faded color.
The result is always unique, and I loved it. These rusty patterns aren't just designs; they evoke a readiness to face challenges and embark on a journey of self-discovery amidst the sun-soaked desert.
